Nothing at all heavy tonight … I love to watch Parkour and I thoroughly enjoy PC games … such as World of Warcraft, etc. There’s an incredibly popular game called Assassin’s Creed which has gone through several versions … here, in it’s simplest form is what happens when Parkour meets Assassin’s Creed in real life…. sheer beauty to me ..
Yesterday I mentioned that I usually enjoy the non-US competition shows more … here are three reasons why … Just so you know, there is no 90 second time restraint, so the real talent can shine through … in other words these clips are a little long – but so, so good.
This was the clip that first introduced me to Ukraine’s Got Talent … I actually had to go back and look up the history to understand it – I’m including a short lesson:
“…the overwhelming brunt of the Nazi occupation between 1941 and 1944, as of the devastating Soviet reoccupation, was borne not by Russia but by the Baltic States, by Belarus, by Poland, and above all by Ukraine…. nowhere is it made clear that the largest number of civilian casualties in Europe were inflicted on the Ukrainians, millions of whom were killed both by the Nazis and by the Soviets. Thanks to persistent wartime prejudices, many British and Americans still harbor the illusion that most Ukrainians spent the war either as auxiliaries in the concentration camps or in the Waffen-SS Galizien….[but] the Waffen SS recruited three times as many Dutchmen as Ukrainians.” (New York Review of Books June 9, 1994, p. 23).
Here’s the 2009 clip of an amazing sand artist …
This years winners were amazing as well … it’s the Street Workout group – who manage to make working out beautiful, sexy and powerful. No, I wouldn’t want to be next to them at the gym!! This was the final performance…
I have enough trouble riding a two wheeled cycle … maybe I need a three-wheeler!!!!
And last, but certainly NOT least ~ The world’s best bartender … unless you’re in a hurry to get that drink!!!!
I don’t usually post clips here, but this one really caught my attention. It may have something to do with my birthday celebration yesterday (OK, OK — I’ll stop mentioning it!), but I have now vowed to never again complain about backache, headache or sore shoulders! By the way, as you watch this clip – remember that toe shoes have a steel plate in them!! Just so you know!!!
And now it’s possible for you to release your inner Jason Pollack – instead of doodling on that important piece of paper you’re supposed to be reading – you can doddle in a bright color right on your screen….
Just move the cursor around and/or pause it. To clear the screen for a new creation, all you have to do is click the mouse. — 0h yes, your screen will remain blank UNTIL you move the mouse.
I will be gone for today (12/24) and tomorrow (12/25). I will be staying with dear friends who are becoming family to me (see yesterdays early morning thoughts). As they have no computer, I will have no access to post.
So let me take this time to wish you and yours the best of the holiday!!! May the spirit that should be a part of all throughout the year be with you!!!
And as the new year bears down … it is a good time to begin to evaluate:
Stretch ourselves in new directions:
And finally soar where we never thought we would be able to go:
and what’s the most exciting – it is ALL up to us individually.
Enjoy days of christmas, enjoy those around – make the most of the opportunities presented to us to be part of someone’s life and to make a difference in their life and in our own!!
